Wendy C. Fostvedt has been a practicing attorney in Colorado since 2002. She is admitted to practice in the State of Colorado and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and has been admitted pro hac vice in the State Court of California.
She initially began her law career as in-house counsel for Vail Resorts, Inc. where she handled a broad range of transactions involved in the function of ski resorts and its real estate. Eventually she specialized in SEC compliance for the publicly traded entity and was promoted to Manger of SEC Compliance.
Upon leaving Vail Resorts, due to relocation of the corporate headquarters, she moved to Aspen and was later hired as an associate with the Aspen firm, Oates, Knezevich, Gardenswartz & Kelley, where she concentrated on construction and real estate litigation, which led to a specialty in real estate litigation, specifically involving the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act.
For the past four years Wendy has successfully represented plaintiffs in multiple Federal litigation cases involving violation of the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act (“ILSA”), including Dalzell, et al. Trailhead Lodge at Wildhorse Meadows, et al., filed in U.S. District Court of Colorado, Case No. 09-CV-02614-REB-KLM (setting precedent in the U.S. District Court of Colorado); Keefe v. Base Village Owners, LLC, Pitkin County Colorado District Court, Case No. 09 CV (she and co-counsel successfully achieved on summary judgment ruling, the rescission of twenty-nine condominium purchase and sale agreement for violations of ILSA).
Wendy has also been successful in litigation involving business disputes, lease violations, HOA matters, mechanics liens, real estate contracts, and other real estate related matters.
